VERONICA L., 18 YEARS OLD

Hi! My name is Veronica and I’m 18. I’m not from Vercelli, but from a little town near this city : Santhià, that is quite small but not so bad. I arrive to school by bus in about 40 minutes.

I’ve got a sister, Federica, who lives in Milan to attend the University; my mother, Ornella, is a housewife but she is also a member of our town council; my father, Alberto, is an agent of mineral oil products.

In March, I took a degree as a swimming teacher: I like this job very much because I like swimming a lot. This is one of my favourite sports: I also follow the World Championship of Motorbike (I adore Valentino Rossi) and every motor sports; I like volleyball too.

In my spare time, my favourite hobbies are: reading (expecially the “new generation” of Italian writers: Brizzi, Romano, Culicchia e DeCarlo; but my favourite book is Jay McInerney’s “Bright lights, big city”, and I like Carver too…); listening to music (I like rock), sleeping, cooking and peinting (I love Picasso, and I read a lot of books about him).

This will be my first time to America and for this reason I’m very excited.
