Hello
everybody !
My
name is Giulia and I’m 17. I live in Vercelli, a small city between Milan and
Turin. I live in a flat which is 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre and
from my school, with my father and my mother. My father is a doctor and my
mother is a teacher of English. I am an only child because when I was very
little I was afraid of sharing my mum with another baby and so I prayed my
parents not to have a brother… and now I would like to have one! In my spare
time I do a lot of things because I’m always happy and I don’t like having
anything to do! I like every kind of sport. In fact I practice callisthenics
(which is a special gymnastic where I have to use balls, circles and ribbons), I
love skiing in winter and swimming in summer and I play football in my school
team. I also play tennis but actually I’m not very good at it. I play the
drums in a “girl band” called “Prerogative”.
We
are a group of 5 “crazy girls” and we always have a good time together! We
play a strange kind of “philosophical rock” and we give a lot of importance
to the texts in our songs. Obviously I like music very much.
My
favourite groups are Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Cranberries, U2, Linkin Park and
especially Metallica, but in general I love every kind of music, even classical
or blues.
Something
else about me?
I
have a lot of friends, with whom I like going out on Saturday
evening
or shopping at the weekend. I’m happy and radiant and I can easily make new
friends. I also like reading very much: novels, poetry and also theatrical
plays. My favourite writers are Jane Austen, Shakespeare and Salinger, and my
favourite poets are Emily Dickinson, Rimbaud and Verlaine. I’m very happy to
join this exchange because I like America very much, and I’m interested in
visiting it. When I went to New York three years ago with my parents I was
surprised and fascinated by this magic city.
I
would be glad to host a girl here in Vercelli.
